Small disclaimer: you might be looking at the release date of 2017, and thinking oh hey, cool, a brand new album, probably. However, this isn't exactly a "new" album. The earliest of these songs were started around 2013, and the rest were written and recorded sometime between 2014-15. Then I took a longer time mixing them and mastering them than I should have, and then I let them gather moss on my hard drive before finally throwing them up onto bandcamp.

I wish I could say the reason for the release delay was because I was working on a Frank Ocean-level masterpiece, but the truth is, these songs were meant to be finished much quicker than they were, but some mix of perfectionism, procrastination and work got in the way.

The reason I'm putting it out now, though, is that I went back and listened to it, and actually quite liked it, after some time apart from making it. While I've started a new band, Basketball Knees in the meantime, and changed some of the focus of my songwriting, I still think these songs deserve to see the light of the day, as they represent an interesting/meaningful (for me at least) snapshot of my life--falling in love, finishing school, working in an insanely busy large-format bookstore--when I was making them.

And for anyone listening to them now (thanks by the way), I hope there's still stuff that makes them worthwhile for you too. Despite the things that make me cringe, I do legitimately think there are some fun, weird, cool musical things going on in each song.
